Themed inclusive playground on the canary island of La Palma

The municipality of Los Llanos de Aridane, on the island of La Palma, has inaugurated a large inclusive children’s playground designed to offer safe and accessible fun for children of all ages and abilities. The new space features innovative themed and accessible play equipment, with special emphasis on large playset structures that combine entertainment, education, and motor skill development.

The Yeti playset structure is the star of this playground, featuring a themed structure that invites children to embark on a winter adventure inspired by the legend of the Abominable Snowman. Standing over 7 meters tall, El Yeti includes different play levels, tunnels, interactive panels, and icy decorations that transport children to the high mountains of Tibet. At its lower level, kids can explore the crawling tunnel “El Dedo del Yeti”, relax on a conversation bench, play with sliding tiles to improve fine motor skills, or challenge themselves with a height measurement game and a themed word search.

Alongside the Yeti, the playground also features the Spooky Double Tunnel playset Structure, an impressive five-level structure inspired by the world of monsters, consisting of three towers connected by tunnels and bridges. This structure includes up to 31 themed play elements, such as educational panels, fine motor skill games, and activities to encourage language learning. Children can climb, slide, and explore as they enjoy this monstrous adventure.

The third highlight is the Accessible Robot City playset structure, designed following universal accessibility principles, allowing children with disabilities or reduced mobility to access and enjoy it. With a central covered area, this playset structure consists of 18 play elements that promote teamwork, social interaction, and collective play.

Finally, the playground is completed with the impressive Giant Double Tower Space Odyssey, a massive double-tower play structure with a space theme. Standing nearly 7 meters tall, this structure features tube slides, crawling tunnels, climbing walls, and early stimulation zones, creating an environment where children’s imaginations can soar into outer space. The decorative elements related to planets, astronauts, and aliens turn every corner into a true cosmic adventure.

To ensure children’s safety, a continuous rubber and in-situ EPDM safety surface has been installed, providing ideal cushioning to prevent falls.

This new playground in Los Llanos de Aridane has been installed by Archipiélago Suministros Industriales, the canary islands distributor of Industrias Agapito. It serves as a great example of how public spaces can be transformed to become more inclusive, accessible, and fun for everyone.

With this new play area, the municipality becomes an even more attractive place for families, offering a safe, interactive, and healthy gathering spot for both children and adults.
