The city of Móstoles (Madrid region), scene of the products of INDUSTRIAS AGAPITO

The manufacturer INDUSTRIAS AGAPITO, has executed throughout the year 2022, 33 playgrounds and sports parks in the Municipality of Móstoles, Madrid.

Last year, the Móstoles city council made a significant investment to offer an improvement to its public spaces throughout the municipality by installing areas for sports equipment and children’s playgroudns, among which is the integration of inclusive parks in each of its districts. A measure that makes Móstoles a pioneer municipality in terms of the accessibility of children’s areas in Spain.

On this occasion, INDUSTRIAS AGAPITO has carried out the complete installation, including civil works, of 33 areas, among which it is worth highlighting the unique areas and those adapted with universal accessibility criteria, according to the new Spanish ORDER TMA851/2021. The unique areas have large themed games such as “The Tree House” which consists of a giant tower with a built-in slide and swing, as well as adapted carousels and inclusive spring games, among others.

The adapted areas include shades to protect the little ones on sunny and hot days and inclusive and adapted children’s playgrounds. In these children’s areas, accessible pedestrian itineraries with wet pour tactile paving have been planned, as established by ORDER TMA851/2021 for accessibility and non-discrimination for access and use of urbanized public spaces. In this way, access and walking through the entire children’s area is facilitated for children with reduced mobility.

Among all the playgrounds that have been installed, it is worth noting the new children’s area of ​​the Salvador Allende Park, which has more than 250 sqm, prepared so that more than 50 children can play simultaneously, which, in addition to being an accessible park and having a great thematic Playset, includes several more inclusive sets such as a triple balance beam, a game with a ramp and stairs for crawling, and an inclusive house for early sensory stimulation. Several of the facilities also include games for bilingual learning, with word mazes, mathematical games or astronomical diagrams in English.

This is a pioneering project that highlights the need to have adapted areas in playgrounds for children with disabilities. Likewise, the project carried out by INDUSTRIAS AGAPITO in the Municipality of Móstoles has included the installation of sports training areas in the street, with the installation of several Gyms in the Street so that young people and adults can practice sports for free in the open air.
