Inclusive children playground area according to TMA851-2021 in Alcorcón (Madrid)

An innovative 100% accessible and inclusive children playground area is installed in Alcorcón by INDUSTRIAS AGAPITO in accordance with Standard TMA851/2021

Alcorcón has a new inclusive playground where all children, regardless of their ability, can play together. A way to encourage play among all children so that no one feels discriminated against. This park, where nothing has been left to chance, has been executed under Order TMA851/2021 and from the ground to its games have been designed to play with safety and accessibility.

INDUSTRIAS AGAPITO has carried out all the complete civil works, and also the installation of the playgrounds and the shock-absorbing surface, it has selected different types of playgrounds so that the reach among the little ones is greater. One of the favorite playsets of all children and, above all, of children with different abilities, is the Tribox for Everyone easily accessible through two ways. A ladder-type access, with a wide step and handles, for walking users, assisted or not, and another elevated platform-type access to directly transfer seated users from a wheelchair to the game.

The inclusive Playset has a clock game with rotating hands with the numbers also engraved in Braille, an alphabet game in universal sign language and a “Fruit Finder” word search game. All games are located at the bottom for easy access. Finally, it has a very wide slide.

The playground also has other adapted playsets such as the Inclusive Carousel for wheelchairs, which is a large rotating platform designed for use by children with reduced mobility and who can be accompanied by an adult. The wheelchair will be positioned so that the user faces the inside or center of the platform, with the back of the chair against the handrail of the carousel. This playground also has seats on the sides so that other children can enjoy the game at the same time.

Large swings are one of children’s favorites because they can enjoy the game simultaneously. In the newly opened Alfredo Nobel park in Alcorcón, two Veleta Nest Swings have been installed: An integration swing with a nest seat that allows it to be used by children with disabilities or as a collective swing. It is certified in compliance with safety regulations. In addition to the nest swing, double integration swings have also been installed.

Aimed at younger children, we find the Frog Dock Game with nice colors or a Little House with furniture and terrace (h) that becomes a meeting point within the play area and where children can let their imagination fly. to play with other children.

The star of this fully accessible playground is The Tree House, a themed playset that is almost 7 meters high and decorated with elements of nature. Vegetation and animals are the stars of this giant tower, which also has a large tube slide.

On the lower level is the early stimulation area for the little ones. This area called: “fox cave” is equipped with a small counter table, crawling tunnel and gathering bench. In this lower area we also find a swing attached to the tower. Finally, a hanging rope ladder and a trunk-shaped climbing wall allow access to the different levels of the game and windows of the children’s tower. This is a game that enhances both the imagination and creativity of children, in addition to promoting physical activity, thanks to its large size and different accessories that allow them to move freely throughout the tower.

This playground in Alcorcón becomes an example of an area with a high play value thanks to its accessibility and integrative capacity where all children can play regardless of their abilities and also whose safety is reinforced with the installed shock-absorbing surface.
