INDUSTRIAS AGAPITO installs one of the first playgrounds under Order TMA851 for easy access and play for children with different abilities.
In recent times, city councils are adapting their children’s areas so that any child, regardless of their ability, can access the playgrounds. Children playground manufacturer INDUSTRIAS AGAPITO, has developed not only inclusive games, but recreation areas completely adapted for all types of boys and girls.
INDUSTRIAS AGAPITO has installed one of the first playgrounds executed under Order TMA851/2021. This park is located in the Hortaleza District in Madrid city and has a large, completely renovated recreation area where the work has been carried out including the completion of all the civil works necessary for the subsequent placement of games and shock-absorbing surfaces.
The main playground is the Inclusive Playground Pirate Ship for All, which is an adapted pirate ship with educational games adapted for children with different abilities. This Playset, in addition to enhancing the motor skills of boys and girls, has inclusive learning games, such as a board with a sign language alphabet, a braille clock, a word search for bilingual learning in English or a mathematics game.
The playset covers all needs, taking into account those children who can climb or slide down a slide, but also those who may have more difficult access. For this reason, the pirate ship is also adapted so that boys and girls in wheelchairs can play and enjoy.
Other playgrounds installed are the Flying Carousel, also adapted and certified according to the EN1177 playground safety regulations. The Tribox Nest Swing is ideal for collective play, as well as use by children with disabilities who will feel safe while swinging. The Ladybug Inclusive Dock is easy to access for children in wheelchairs as it has a large seat and special handles for greater stability. Likewise, having the possibility of two children playing at the same time allows interaction between minors.
Throughout the playground, accessible pedestrian routes have been planned with routing EPDM tactile pavement, as established by ORDER TMA851/2021 for accessibility and non-discrimination for access and use of urbanized public spaces. In this way, access and travel through the entire children’s area is facilitated for children with reduced mobility.
This accessible children’s area has become the ideal place for boys and girls of all abilities to play in an integrated and safe way.
